Subdivision means dividing a piece of real estate into smaller sections for the desired outcome. It could be that we do not want to break up natural features like a glade an ancient oak tree, or a series of particularly beautiful hills. It could be that we want a certain section of a neighborhood, facility, or installation to function more or less as an isolated unit.

 

Subdivision can also be done for economic reasons. For example, it could be done to reduce the tax liability of a specific property or section. It could be done to break up ownership of a larger property for downsizing or for a number of other reasons.
